Questions About our MD chicken coops or houses?
- No, we do not. If you have a flock that doesn’t perfectly fit the 300 or 650 numbers, then we suggest buying multiple houses and “stacking them” beside each other in the field.
- If you aren’t sure which setup would be best for your farm, please contact us. We would love to help you decide which chicken set up is right for you!
- We recommend keeping the number of hens per house at the suggested level. While you can have more hens, there are risks involved with potential nest issues, training issues, etc.
- The rollaway nests move the eggs away from the hens as soon as they are laid.
- The floor is a mesh that allows the manure and dirt to drop through. This keeps the house and hens cleaner.
- There is a 2″ gap between the flooring and the actual nests. This prevents manure and dirt from building up at the nests or inside the nests.
- We recommend moving the houses daily. This can change depending on the condition of your field and the weather.
- Yes, several of our models come in kits that you can assemble, including the 250, 600, and portable chicken coop models.
